Cambridge School, Indirapuram, has set up a Career Resource Centre to cater to students of Classes 9 to 12. This initiative has been taken in collaboration with Admizzionz Campuzz. In addition, Cambridge Schools’ in-house career counsellor regularly visits the school to meet students on a one-on-one and group basis.

Comprising a series of workshops on different themes related to career planning, regular visits by expert counsellors, psychometric assessments, and one-to-one interactions between students and the counsellors, the Career Resource Centre aims to facilitate informed career decision-making among students.  The counsellors acquaint students with the plethora of career options available to them and the evolving industry trends. One of the major focus areas of the counselling process is to disseminate among students an understanding of how they should find the best match between their personal strengths and the opportunities that the industry offers.

Below are a few glimpses of some recent career counselling events conducted at the school.

Workshops on stream-specific careers

The session, conducted on April 21’ 23, for students of Class 12, presented the students with an overview of different courses and universities in India. This helped in expanding students’ horizons, inculcating curiosity in them which was seen in the individual sessions that followed.

Career assessments

Career Interest Profiling (CIP) and Multiple Interest Profiling (MIP) – these career assessments help gain a better insight into the students’ interests and aptitude. Accompanied by personality assessment, a holistic profile is formulated by the counsellor, which is then shared with students and their parents. These assessments have been of great help for the parents and teachers for the future guidance process.

One-on-one sessions

Regular individual career counselling sessions are conducted for the students of Classes 10 and 12 every Tuesday and Friday by the counsellor. The results of the CIP and MIP assessments, along with other related queries are discussed in these sessions. Parents are also encouraged to meet the counsellor through prior appointment. This helps to keep the parents in  loop regarding their ward’s guidance and counselling process. There are follow-up sessions, if required.

‘Notifyme’ alerts app

Access to the ‘Notifyme’ alerts app is provided to the students of Class 12 to help them keep a track of the university applications, scholarships, internships, etc.
